Going up.....

This is my ground floor. This is my starting point to becoming a writer. There will be plenty of bumps and, at times, I may possibly want to jump off this crazy ride.  Though, I have vowed that I will continue forward with this journey. No matter what, I will hold on…..for myself and also as gift for my children.

At 37, I am finally shattering my pre-conceived notion that being like everyone else is my normal. Writing eases my frustrations and showcases my joy with being a woman, a parent, and a wife.  Even before the stages of adulthood took hold, I would unleash my pen to numerous sheets of paper and the outcome astounded me.  Unfortunately, I would tuck each poem, story and journal inside a drawer.

For 25 years, I have continued to bury my dreams in that drawer. My words have been lying silently, waiting for me to take the leap. It’s time. It’s time to open the drawer, set my words free, and figure out where I want my wings to take me.

Taking this journey to share my thoughts, my experiences, and my chaos……honestly……. scares the crap out of me. Being petrified that someone does not agree with my views is my Achilles heel.  But, I am not alone. There are others, like me, who followed the “normal” path and realized they were not fulfilled.  There are others who have dared to jump without knowing what is lying below.

So, my ground floor has been named in honor of my new daily mantra…. Be Unique.
